General Cancer Information
- Many cancers often show no symptoms until advanced stages.
- Early detection through screening, like Trucheck, can significantly increase the chances of treatment success.
Important Information & Safety
Key Safety Information for Trucheck Intelli Users
- Intended Users: Trucheck Intelli is specifically designed for healthy adults aged 35 and above.
- Cancer Type Detection: While effective, Trucheck does not identify all cancer types. It is best used in conjunction with other screening methods as recommended by a healthcare professional.
- Functionality: Trucheck operates by detecting CTCs in the blood, providing insights into potential cancer activity and its location within the body.
- Result Interpretation: All Trucheck results will be evaluated and interpreted by a healthcare practitioner.
Understanding Test Results
- A Negative outcome does not completely eliminate the possibility of cancer.
- A Positive result necessitates additional diagnostic procedures for confirmation.
Further Investigations
If subsequent tests post a positive Trucheck result do not confirm cancer, it might mean that cancer is either not present, not detectable by follow-up testing, or could be originating from a different area of the body.
Accuracy Limitations
Both false-positive and false-negative results are a possibility in this testing.
Possible Downsides
Waiting for your Trucheck results can be a stressful time for you and your family. Sometimes, the results might be unclear, labelled as 'Indeterminate' which means CTCs were detected in the given blood sample, however the type of malignancy or organ of origin could not be determined.
Although it's rare, getting a result that mistakenly says there is no cancer when there is (a false negative) or one that incorrectly indicates cancer when there isn’t (a false positive) can also be upsetting. These situations can lead to worry and may affect your feelings and behaviour. It is important to consider these carefully before undergoing the test.
